- Irvin Venyš is one of the most progressive performers on the Czech music scene. His extensive performance skills, ranging from classical music to folklore and jazz to challenging works of the 20th and 21st centuries, have earned him a reputation as a sought-after soloist and chamber player. He collaborates with a number of contemporary composers and actively participates (not only) in premiering compositions by domestic and foreign authors. He regularly records for Czech Radio, Czech Television, ORF and Mitteldeutsches Rundfunk, NAXOS, as well as for publishers such as Arco Diva and Supraphon. He released his latest CD, recorded with the Epoque Quartet under the name Komp(l)ot, on his own label, Irvin Classics. He teaches clarinet at Prague's HAMU and is the director of the Bohuslav Martinů Foundation. He co-founded and organizes the Prague Clarinet Days and the Concert Against Totality, which aims to commemorate November 17 and the oppression that artists face under totalitarian regimes. www.irvinvenys.cz
