The vocal quintet Ensemble Frizzante was founded in 2015 as an ensemble of professional singers from leading Brno choirs who wanted to find a counterpoint to performing large choral works and operas.
They set themselves the goal of discovering little-performed or forgotten compositions, unusually combining the human voice with musical instruments, and delighting themselves and their listeners with the beauty of the harmony of vocal lines, which is one of the most beautiful experiences across musical genres.
The ensemble’s repertoire is quite broad. Renaissance madrigals, interesting projects with baroque music, yet the core of its repertoire lies in the vocal music of the twentieth century. Several compositions by contemporary authors were written especially for them. Ensemble Frizzante performs frequently at home and abroad, is invited to festivals (Moravian Autumn, Hradec Králové Choral Festival, Malá Strana Chamber Festivities). In Brno, it organises its own cycle of vocal music concerts.
