At the concert within the Silberbauer’s Musical Thaya Region festival, Professor of Flute at the Church Conservatory in Bratislava, Ivica Gabrišová, will perform together with organist and conservatory director Marek Vrábel.

She studied flute at the Bratislava Conservatory. She was an extraordinary student at the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest in the class of Prof. Gyula Csetényi. She completed her daily master’s degree - concert direction at the Universität MOZARTEUM in Salzburg in the class of the renowned artist Michael Martin Kofler. She completed her doctoral studies at the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica in cooperation with Prof. Václav Kunto.
She gained orchestral experience as a member – intern of the Orchestral Academy at the Munich Philharmonic. She also collaborated with other orchestras such as Mozarteum Salzburg, Junge Philharmonie Salzburg, Salzburger Kammerphilharmonie, Capella Istropolitana, RTVS Symphony Orchestra, Virtuosi Brunenses, Czech Virtuosi, ŠKO Žilina, etc. She worked for two concert seasons in the orchestra of the Slovak Philharmonic.
She devotes herself to chamber and solo performance, in cooperation with prominent Slovak artists and chamber ensembles. In the field of chamber music, she collaborates with leading domestic and foreign artists such as cellist Michal Sťahel, pianists - Jordana Palovičová, Ladislav Fančovič, she collaborates with organist Marek Vrábel and others. With pianist Maroš Klátik, she has performed numerous recital performances throughout Slovakia within important music festivals and concert series. As a soloist, she has performed with the orchestras Junge Philharmonie Salzburg, Münchner Kammerorchester, Capella Istropolitana, Orchestra of the State Opera Banská Bystrica, Pressburger Philharmonie, Sinfonietta Györ, etc. She has a rich repertoire of recital compositions. She collaborates with Slovak Radio and has made several recordings for them. With the renowned Slovak guitarist Miriam Rodriguez – Brüllová, they form Duo Cordefiato, the result of their collaboration is, in addition to extensive concert activity, the CD – Duo Cordefiato – Pictures. Concert tours have taken her to many European countries, Russia, Japan, South Korea and China.
She teaches flute as her main subject at the Church Conservatory in Bratislava and at the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica. She is a lecturer at the international summer courses Bystřická letní flétna in Bystřice pod Hostýnem (Czech Republic). She regularly lectures and teaches within Slovakia and also at European music academies and within important international events (Polish Flute Congress – Łódź 2019, Janáček Conservatory Ostrava, Franz Liszt Academy in Pécs, Music Academy in Zagreb and similar).
She prepares the dramaturgy of the cycle of summer music evenings in her native village Devínska Nová Ves. She is the director and co-organiser of the international competition FLAUTIADA for young transverse flute players.

Marek Vrábel is one of the most prominent representatives of Slovak organ art. At the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, he graduated in 1998 in organ performance under Ján Vladimír Michalko. He further expanded his education through international master interpretation courses with Jean Guillou, Susan Landale and Reitze Smits. In his doctoral studies at the Academy of Performing Arts, he was guided by Ivan Sokol and Ján Vladimír Michalko.
He is the holder of several national and international awards and diplomas from various showcases and competitions. His most recent awards include the Sebastian Prize from Ars ante portas for his extraordinary contribution to the legacy of Johann Sebastian Bach’s work, the Fra Angelica Prize from the KBS Council for his personal contribution to Christian values in musical art in Slovakia, and the Frico Kafenda Prize from the Music Fund for outstanding interpretive performances and continuous presentation of Slovak organ works at home and abroad.
As a soloist, he has performed with the State Philharmonic Košice under the baton of Bystrík Režucha, Stanislav Macura and Marián Vach, with the State Chamber Orchestra in Žilina with Róbert Stankovský, with the Slovak Philharmonic under the direction of Ondrej Lenárd, Vladimír Válek, Peter Feranec, Emmanuel Villaume and Peter Altrichter.
He has successfully performed over 190 solo recitals in Slovakia and abroad, and has so far completed 74 international concert tours in 20 European and Asian countries at various prestigious organ festivals: (Bern, Brašov, Budapest, Bucharest, Caen, Frankfurt am Main, Helsinki, Katowice, Chișinău, Krakow, Lahti, Ljubljana, Lublin, Munich, Prague, Sibiu, Stockholm, Tampere, Tashkent, Warsaw, Vienna ...)
He is a sought-after chamber musician and collaborates with many prominent Slovak and foreign artists. He has recorded 7 CDs, including the complete solo organ works of Štefan Németh-Šamorínsky for Diskant.
He is also active in journalism. He regularly premieres works by contemporary Slovak composers, e.g., Ľuboš Bernáth, Norbert Bodnár, Peter Breiner, Ivan Hrušovský, Víťazoslav Kubička, Milan Novák, Marek Piaček and others. Several composers have also dedicated their works to him. As part of his doctoral concerts, he presented Slovak premieres of Peter Eben’s organ works on Slovak Radio. He records for RTVS, ČT, MSP Records, Inedita Austria, Diskant and others.
He is the director of the Bratislava Organ Festival and a member of the Council for Science, Education and Culture at the KBS. He sits on the juries of international organ competitions. His students have won several prestigious international awards. Since 1997, he has been teaching organ at the Church Conservatory in Bratislava, where he currently serves as director.
