At the concert of the 2nd year of the international music festival ”Silberbauer’s Musical Thaya Region”, two soloists of the National Theatre in Prague, soprano Lucie Hájková and baritone Jiří Hájek, will perform. The organ will be played by the Prague church organist of St. Nicholas Church, Přemysl Kšica. The programme will feature works by key Baroque composers.

  • Lucie Hájková graduated from the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague in the class of Prof. N. Kniplová. She participated in numerous internships and courses. She is a laureate of several singing competitions. At the International A. Dvořák Competition in Karlovy Vary, she won the Song category, took 3rd place in the Opera category, and achieved the same placement at the singing competition held as part of the Ad honorem Mozart festival in Prague. In 2020, she became a soloist of the National Theatre in Prague: Donna Elvira (W.A.Mozart - Don Giovanni), First Lady and Papagena (W.A.Mozart - The Magic Flute), Bird Seller (B. Martinů - Juliette), Lady (G. Verdi - Macbeth), Anna (G. Verdi - Nabucco), Ančí (V. Kašlík - Krakatit), Dominanta- Donna Anna- Musicologist ( S.Stucky- The Classical Style). She collaborates with the J. K. Tyl Theatre in Pilsen, the F. X. Šalda Theatre in Liberec, Chamber Opera Prague and the National Theatre Opera in Brno: Libuše (B.Smetana- Libuše), Duchess (T. Ades - Powder her face), Clemense (K. Saariaho - L`amour de Loin), Líza (P.I.Čajkovskij- The Queen of Spades), Tat’ána (P.I.Čajkovskij-Eugene Onegin), Rosalinda (Die Fledermaus-J.Strauss), Countess (W.A.Mozart - The Marriage of Figaro), Liù (G. Puccini - Turandot), Berta (G. Rossini - The Barber of Seville), Frau Flut (O. Nikolai - The Merry Wives of Windsor), Agafjia (B. Martinů - The Marriage), Foreign Princess (A. Dvořák - Rusalka), Wanda (O. Nedbal - Polish Blood), Giulietta (J. Offenbach - The Tales of Hoffmann). She also has a number of concert performances at home and abroad (concert at the Cairo Opera in Egypt, performances in Germany, Austria, Spain, tour in Japan). She often interprets modern vocal literature and recorded Luboš Sluka’s song cycle for Czech Radio: Love Songs. Together with the Zemlinsky Quartet, she recorded the string sextet with solo soprano Maiblumen blühten überall by A. Zemlinsky.

  • He studied singing at the Pardubice Conservatory. He continued his studies at VŠMÚ in Bratislava, in the class of Doc. P. Mikuláš, and then at AMU in Prague, in the class of Prof. R. Tuček. In 2003, he won 1st prize in the song category and 2nd prize in the opera category at the International A. Dvořák Singing Competition in Karlovy Vary. From 2004, he was a soloist at the J. K. Tyl Theatre in Pilsen. During his engagement there, he studied over 30 roles from Czech and world repertoire. In 2019, he returned to the Pilsen theatre as the Prince in A. Dvořák’s opera - The Cunning Peasant. Since 2003, he has been a permanent guest of the State Opera Prague. And since the 2010/11 season, he has been a soloist of the National Theatre. He performs here mainly in Mozart roles, such as Don Giovanni (Mozart: Don Giovanni), Papageno (Mozart: The Magic Flute), Count Almaviva (Mozart: Le nozze di Figaro), Guglielmo (Mozart: Cosi fan tutte), but also in many others. He also guests at the National Theatre in Brno, where significant collaborations include participation in Jiří Heřman’s productions (Přemysl in Smetana’s Libuše, Gilgamesh in B. Martinů’s Epic of Gilgamesh). His collaboration with Alice Nellis (Les Enfants Terribles-P. Glas, Mozart and others- S. Stucky), or Onřej Havelka (The Barber of Seville - G. Rossini) can also be considered very successful. In 2017, he collaborated with D. Pecková on the project Wanted in Prague’s Lucerna. In concerts and opera performances, he works with prominent conductors such as J. Bělohlávek, T. Netopil, O Lenárd, O. Dohnányi, H.Griffis. More information at www.jirihajek.cz.

  • Born in Prague in 1981. After graduating from grammar school, he studied organ at the Prague Conservatory and at AMU in Prague (Prof. Josef Popelka) and at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Stuttgart (Prof. Dr. Ludger Lohmann). He studied organ improvisation with Prof. Jaroslav Vodrážka, Doc. Jaroslav Tůma and Johannes Mayr. He further expanded his education through many organ courses under the guidance of excellent foreign organists (Lorenzo Ghielmi, Olivier Latry, Günter Kaunzinger and others). He has received numerous awards from organ competitions. He won the prize for organ improvisation three times at the competition in Opava, in 2004 he won 3rd prize at the International Competition for Young Organists in Ljubljana, in 2005 2nd place at the Organ Competition Showcase in Most and in 2010 2nd prize at the International Petr Eben Organ Competition in Opava. In Prague, he has worked for many years as a church organist, most recently mainly at St. Nicholas Church in Malá Strana. He teaches organ at the Teplice Conservatory. He is active in concert and recording activities at home and abroad. He collaborates with various vocal-instrumental ensembles (Kühn Mixed Choir, Prague Philharmonic Choir, Prague Cathedral Choir, Czech Philharmonic Choir Brno).
