Mailberg

The concert, part of the ”Silberbauer’s Musical Thaya Region” festival, will feature the Brno vocal quintet Ensemble Frizzante along with organist Kateřina Málková. The concert programme focuses on setting poetry to vocal compositions. We will hear Renaissance madrigals, as well as modern sacred vocal works. The concert will feature the premiere of the composition Eros’s Madrigal Notebook by composer Lukáš Sommer, composed for this evening. The vocal quintet Ensemble Frizzante aims to discover forgotten compositions and unusual connections between the human voice and musical instruments. It was founded in 2015 as an ensemble of professional singers from leading Brno choirs (Choir of the National Theatre Opera in Brno, Czech Philharmonic Choir Brno, and others).

The concert is held as part of the Czech-Austrian international music festival ”Silberbauer’s Musical Thaya Region”, which takes its name from the Znojmo Baroque organ builder who was active in the Thaya/Thayatal region and contributes to the rediscovery of his name by the wider public in both South Moravia and Lower Austria.
